Buttons

Following are some of the buttons found in the battle field.  Most of them present the crown eagle and were used by the Mexican Imperial Army.  The buttons seem to have come from Europe via the port of Bagdad.  All of these buttons seem to appear in the northern frontier, which suggest that only the northernmost troops were supplied with them.  Also, a very peculiar button locally made was found.  One of the two found had a wire through it which implied it was used in a kepi.   Unfortunately, only one kind of Mexican button was found.  It appears that most of the Mexican Army had plain brass buttons.

Following are some examples of the finds.
